About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the design and modeling of mechanical components to interface with optical elements
- Design and model the mechanical means to mount and position these elements in an optical system
- Develop detailed drawings of optical elements and overall optical system, as well as fabrication and assembly drawings
- Conduct analysis and evaluation of design concepts to produce realistic assessment of risks
- Support trade studies
Requirements
What you’ll need- T/SCI Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience or equivalent with total 7+ years of related experience
- Specific knowledge related to the mechanical design mounts and modeling of opto-mechanical systems.
- Proficient in CAD software (Solid Works, NX)
- Ability to work all phases of opto-mechanical subsystems from conceptual design layout to system level assembly and interface drawings (ICD)
- Develop assembly and test procedures and support all levels of optical subsystem integration and tests
- Prior experience with NASA or related to space flight hardware
