Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the design and modeling of mechanical components to interface with optical elements
Design and model the mechanical means to mount and position these elements in an optical system
Develop detailed drawings of optical elements and overall optical system, as well as fabrication and assembly drawings
Conduct analysis and evaluation of design concepts to produce realistic assessment of risks
Support trade studies

Requirements

What you’ll need

T/SCI Secret Clearance
Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience or equivalent with total 7+ years of related experience
Specific knowledge related to the mechanical design mounts and modeling of opto-mechanical systems.
Proficient in CAD software (Solid Works, NX)
Ability to work all phases of opto-mechanical subsystems from conceptual design layout to system level assembly and interface drawings (ICD)
Develop assembly and test procedures and support all levels of optical subsystem integration and tests
Prior experience with NASA or related to space flight hardware
