About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Leverage technical expertise to lead critical components of KBR’s global insurance and risk management programs
  • Help reduce financial volatility and protect enterprise value
  • Oversee insurance procurement, claims management, captive insurance operations, and insured claims handling
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external parties, including senior leadership, brokers, underwriters, clients, regulatory agencies, and legal counsel
  • Lead and develop cross-functional teams, manage multi-region initiatives, and support the Treasurer on strategic priorities, including M&A activities
  • Direct corporate insurance program renewals, modifications, and strategy
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurers, brokers, and claims representatives
  • Oversee the captive insurance company, including program administration and regulatory compliance
  • Manage insured claims processes and coordinate with internal legal teams on litigated matters
  • Evaluate and advise on risk-related contractual provisions
  • Manage the placement of project-specific and country-specific insurance programs
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to audit requests
  • Drive continuous improvement of risk management policies and procedures
  • Recommend solutions to strengthen and evolve the company’s risk management framework
  • Stay informed on insurance market conditions and claims trends

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Insurance/Risk Management, or a related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in risk management and/or insurance within a multinational organization
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications (MBA, JD, ARM, CRIS, CPCU, CRM) preferred
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government contracting environments preferred
  • Deep subject matter expertise in corporate insurance programs, claims management, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and influence decision-making at senior levels
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present trends, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and build effective partnerships
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing teams to drive performance and engagement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), as well as collaboration and document tools (Teams, SharePoint, Adobe/PDF) and enterprise systems such as Costpoint.
