About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide a high-quality fire engineering service to our clients
Interact directly with a variety of clients across several highly regulated sectors (e.g. nuclear energy, defence, rail)
Plan and deliver work, including attending client sites across the UK where required
Provide technical input into many areas of fire engineering e.g. fire modelling and simulation, fire strategy, fire testing, fire system design, fire safety case
Project manage a variety of projects with accountability for resource and budgets
Contribute to business development and manage enquiries with both new and existing clients

Requirements

What you’ll need

PhD, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in fire engineering, or a demonstrable interest in fire engineering
Fire engineering experience (desired in high-hazard or highly regulated industries e.g. nuclear, petrochemicals, chemicals, defence and/or rail)
Your experience might include fire safety case, fire strategy, or fire modelling and simulation
PhD, MSc or BEng Fire Engineering (or equivalence by experience) is advantageous
Experience of fire modelling, such as NIST CFAST or FDS
Experience of undertaking DSEAR assessments
Working towards Chartership, ideally through the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE)
Experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects
Candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting
