About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide a high-quality fire engineering service to our clients
  • Interact directly with a variety of clients across several highly regulated sectors (e.g. nuclear energy, defence, rail)
  • Plan and deliver work, including attending client sites across the UK where required
  • Provide technical input into many areas of fire engineering e.g. fire modelling and simulation, fire strategy, fire testing, fire system design, fire safety case
  • Project manage a variety of projects with accountability for resource and budgets
  • Contribute to business development and manage enquiries with both new and existing clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PhD, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in fire engineering, or a demonstrable interest in fire engineering
  • Fire engineering experience (desired in high-hazard or highly regulated industries e.g. nuclear, petrochemicals, chemicals, defence and/or rail)
  • Your experience might include fire safety case, fire strategy, or fire modelling and simulation
  • PhD, MSc or BEng Fire Engineering (or equivalence by experience) is advantageous
  • Experience of fire modelling, such as NIST CFAST or FDS
  • Experience of undertaking DSEAR assessments
  • Working towards Chartership, ideally through the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE)
  • Experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting
