About the role

  • Develop long-term strategies to drive business growth in Department of War and military space sectors.
  • Drive entry into new mission areas and emerging markets within National Security Space.
  • Manage multiple capture efforts in various stages for award within 18 months.
  • Lead capture efforts for federal contracts, including $100M+ opportunities in defense and space.
  • Oversee the development and submission of compliant, compelling proposals for federal and defense contracts.
  • Develop capture artifacts such as win themes, proof points, past performance candidate identification, proposal resource requirement identification, B&P budget, capture snapshot, and milestone reviews.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to identify objectives, priorities, and requirements, and align company capabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key government customers, prime contractors, and industry partners (large and small businesses).
  • Maintain an accurate growth pipeline and leverage Salesforce for pipeline reporting.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on business development activities and progress.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and develop effective win strategies.

Requirements

  • Security clearance requirement: Active TOP SECRET security clearance required
  • Minimum 20+ years of experience including 10+ years of industry experience and 10+ years of experience in business development, capture management, or government contracting, with a proven track record in the defense and military space sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Deep understanding of federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), government procurement processes, and contract types (IDIQ, GWAC, OTA, etc.).
  • Experience leading complex capture efforts and proposal submissions for DoD, Department of War, or military space customers.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship management, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
