About the role
- Operates computer consoles and data operations control consoles
- Processes scheduled routines with few difficult operating problems
- Applies standard operating or corrective procedures in response to instructions or error conditions
- Ensures the computer system is configured to meet scheduled data processing requirements
- Coordinates the orderly flow of data from the source to computer
- Uses communication devices to coordinate data processing activities
- Isolates and clears problems impeding information flow
- Provides assistance and direction to lower-level computer operator to meet scheduled requirements
- Completes logs and provides data accountability as defined by standard procedures
- Performs preventative maintenance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school and six months of technical training (or equivalent) or two years of related experience
- (Formal customer-approved certification in assigned position may be substituted for experience)
