About the role
- Translate forecast, inventory build plan, and outbound freight needs into a freight plan by lane and manage ERP/MRP related freight data
- Ensure all Purchase Quotes and Purchase Orders are accurate and communicated to suppliers
- Engage with Accounts Payable to ensure timely invoice processing and publish actual month-to-date spend weekly and spend forecasts
- Lead pricing, cost tracking, and reporting for all freight and maintain accurate ERP data
- Support sourcing process from supplier selection through implementation of new carriers and own supplier onboarding processes
- Prepare and initiate RFI/RFP/RFQ proposals and own sourcing templates, data, and supplier engagement
- Work with internal clients and freight providers to build supplier relationships focused on continuous improvement
- Gather market intelligence, develop and present freight category profiles, and support contracting and multi-year roadmaps
- Identify, research, and recommend potential suppliers to Procurement management and internal clients
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or equivalent with 1-3 years of Purchasing / Supply Chain experience
- Or without a bachelor’s degree, 5-7 years of Purchasing / Supply Chain experience
- Understanding of import regulations, tariff classifications, duty requirements, and customs documentation (preferred)
- Exceptional computer skills, including advanced capability in Microsoft Excel and other data manipulation tools
- Experience with multiple ERP systems
- Experience working in manufacturing supply chain for consumer products
- Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies
- Ability to work cohesively with multiple departments and teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time
