Global Content Director

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- - Lead content strategy across priority brands, campaigns and omnichannel activation plans
- - Define content ecosystems that support brand growth across paid, owned and earned channels
- - Translate brand platforms and media strategies into high-performing, channel-specific content
- - Partner closely with Creative, Design, Media and Brand teams to deliver distinctive and commercially effective campaigns
- - Develop frameworks, briefing standards and scalable ways of working to improve content quality and efficiency
- - Drive content excellence across social, digital, e-commerce, CRM, shopper marketing and video
- - Use insights, analytics and performance data to continuously optimise creative effectiveness
- - Build scalable and modular content systems that improve speed, consistency and ROI across markets
- - Lead and develop Content Managers while fostering a strong collaborative content community across Karo
- - Manage and influence external agencies, production partners and freelancers to ensure high-quality delivery
- - Champion innovation in content production, including AI, automation and emerging technologies
- - Support content operations, workflow governance, budget optimisation and KPI delivery across the Centre of Excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- - Significant senior-level experience within content strategy, creative leadership, campaign development or content production
- - Strong background in FMCG, consumer healthcare, retail or other fast-moving consumer-focused industries
- - Proven experience developing integrated content strategies across digital and omnichannel environments
- - Deep understanding of paid, owned and earned media ecosystems, including social, e-commerce, video and CRM
- - Strong commercial mindset with the ability to connect creative output to business and media objectives
- - Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience influencing senior leaders across matrix organisations
- - Strong creative judgement and the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback across content formats
- - Experience leading teams and developing talent within fast-paced, international organisations
- - Knowledge of content operations, localisation, modular content systems and scalable asset creation
- - Familiarity with performance measurement, analytics and content optimisation approaches
- - Interest in AI, automation and new technologies shaping modern content creation
- - Fluent professional English; additional European languages are a plus
