About the role

  • independently design material handling equipment such as conveyors, bulk feed systems, sortation solutions, and fulfillment machinery
  • manage moderate-complexity tasks within assigned project scopes and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and safety codes
  • interpret and refine concept-level product requirements into detailed mechanical designs
  • develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation packages including detailed drawings and engineering change documentation
  • investigate and resolve product design issues through root-cause analysis
  • lead or facilitate peer design reviews to ensure technical, cost, and quality objectives are met
  • provide technical guidance and informal mentorship to junior engineers

Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • minimum of four (4) years of applicable experience
  • advanced-level experience in 3D CAD tools such as NX, AutoCAD, Inventor, Pro-E, Solid Works
  • travel up to 10%
  • experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools such as Teamcenter is preferred
  • demonstrated proficiency in mechanical product design with hands-on experience developing material handling equipment
  • strong working knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • hands-on experience with prototyping, lab testing, and equipment validation
  • strong collaboration and communication skills
