About the role
- Respond to service calls to assess and restore the performance of installed systems and equipment
- Participate in equipment installation, trial runs, testing, repairs, and overhauls of parcel and postal logistics systems
- Assist in training customers on the operation, care, and preventive maintenance of installed equipment and systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on tools, test equipment, and installed systems, documenting all inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and failures
- Recommend modifications or improvements to enhance system functionality, reliability, and efficiency
- Support performance evaluations of installed systems based on field data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
- Identify technical issues as they occur and take appropriate, timely actions to resolve them safely and effectively
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, and customer service teams to ensure seamless project delivery and sustained system performance
Requirements
- Exposure working with Allen-Bradley and Siemens family PLCs
- Experience working with PLC's, HMI's, VFD's, MCC's and electrical power distribution systems
- Understanding of Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, ASI Bus, and Modbus TCP industrial control/IT networks
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving in industrial environments
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges and tasks
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel on short notice and spend up to 50% of work time traveling
- Availability to work during off-hours, including weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience troubleshooting electromechanical and/or mechanical equipment, with some experience in automated material handling systems preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school certification or associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical technology preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering is a plus
