About the role
- Determine electrical integration requirements for technologies in overall system designs
- Define system power requirements, design circuit protection, and permit drawing packages
- Develop electrical device layouts, motor control panel designs, electrical panel and field device schematics, and electrical equipment bill of material lists
- Design control network architecture layouts
- Apply knowledge of electrical design codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, UL, OSHA)
- Develop RFQ packages for electrical installation
- Create electrical equipment purchase requisitions
- Lead electrical design discussions during system design review meetings
- Provide electrical design status updates for internal and external project stakeholders
- Travel up to 30% for site evaluations and project assessments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the warehouse and distribution industry, with a focus on electrical systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal abilities to engage confidently with customers and internal teams
- Proven experience designing electrical system layouts, including power distribution, conveyor motor control panels, and schematics using AutoCAD or similar tools
- Direct experience with industrial control systems and communication protocols such as Ethernet, Profinet, and Profibus
- Ability to lead and contribute to design review meetings, communicate engineering decisions, and resolve technical issues in the field
