About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide leadership and direction by administering programs that will drive the quality programs toward completion
Maintains satisfaction as to quality through internal and external inspection services of raw materials, finished items purchased, and production operations and processes
Conducts and/or supervises studies to determine cause, effect, and corrective measures required to remedy deviations from desirable standards of quality
Confers with engineering and manufacturing personnel and in conjunction with them resolves problems of product design, specifications, materials, tooling, and production operations affecting quality
Reviews all complaints received from customers for the purpose of determining where emphasis should be placed at the plant to prevent recurrence
Conducts periodic training sessions to keep personnel informed on procedures, methods, use of equipment, and other quality assurance techniques
Plans and conducts periodic audits to ensure compliance with appropriate procedures
Champions the lean manufacturing effort
Ensures complete documentation and maintenance of quality records
Maintains reporting requirements to ensure compliance with state and federal environmental standards
Conducts periodic reviews and follows through on action items for environmental standards
Identifies cost reductions, process improvements, and work simplification methods in all areas of the plant

Requirements

What you’ll need

Four (4) year degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience in quality assurance
Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control standards, ISO 9001 quality management systems, lean manufacturing, and QA principles
Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office to design presentations and graphs
Must be able to communicate effectively both in a written and verbal format
UL, FM experience preferred
Up to 50% travel may be required.
