About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership and direction by administering programs that will drive the quality programs toward completion
  • Maintains satisfaction as to quality through internal and external inspection services of raw materials, finished items purchased, and production operations and processes
  • Conducts and/or supervises studies to determine cause, effect, and corrective measures required to remedy deviations from desirable standards of quality
  • Confers with engineering and manufacturing personnel and in conjunction with them resolves problems of product design, specifications, materials, tooling, and production operations affecting quality
  • Reviews all complaints received from customers for the purpose of determining where emphasis should be placed at the plant to prevent recurrence
  • Conducts periodic training sessions to keep personnel informed on procedures, methods, use of equipment, and other quality assurance techniques
  • Plans and conducts periodic audits to ensure compliance with appropriate procedures
  • Champions the lean manufacturing effort
  • Ensures complete documentation and maintenance of quality records
  • Maintains reporting requirements to ensure compliance with state and federal environmental standards
  • Conducts periodic reviews and follows through on action items for environmental standards
  • Identifies cost reductions, process improvements, and work simplification methods in all areas of the plant

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four (4) year degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience in quality assurance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control standards, ISO 9001 quality management systems, lean manufacturing, and QA principles
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office to design presentations and graphs
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both in a written and verbal format
  • UL, FM experience preferred
  • Up to 50% travel may be required.
