About the role
- Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly close process
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy across all accounts
- Support the Assistant Controller in delivering timely month-end reporting
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and variance analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes as required
- Oversee the AP cycle, including invoice processing, vendor management, and payment runs
- Maintain accurate vendor records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline and modernize the AP function
- Liaise with the UK finance team on intercompany transactions and reporting alignment
- Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as needed
- Work within NetSuite as the primary accounting system
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency
- Evaluate and adopt AI tools to automate routine accounting tasks and enhance the quality and speed of financial reporting
- Stay current on emerging finance technology and bring forward-thinking recommendations to leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5–7 years of accounting experience, with demonstrated breadth beyond AP
- Strong proficiency in NetSuite
- Solid understanding of US GAAP
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
- Proactive, forward-thinking mindset with a genuine interest in technology and AI tools
- Comfortable challenging the status quo and proposing smarter ways of working
- Experience in a tech or high-growth company is a plus
