About the role
- Operate, maintain, and further develop the existing on-prem Kafka platform
- Plan, execute, and support the migration from on-prem Kafka to Confluent Cloud
- Ensure high availability, robustness, scalability, and performance of the Kafka ecosystem
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Kafka clusters and data pipelines
- Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams
- Contribute both hands-on and strategically to platform improvements and future architecture
Requirements
- Many years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including both operations and development
- Proven experience with cloud migration, preferably from on-prem environments to Confluent Cloud
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and data streaming pipelines
- Solid background in Java development, ideally within fintech or other regulated environments
- Experience working in complex, high-availability production environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerized platforms such as Kubernetes is meriting
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a senior, cross-functional team
- Full professional proficiency in Swedish
- Availability to work on-site in Stockholm 2–3 days per week
