About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process, assess, collate, and distribute monthly and annual reinsurance data within Treaty timeframes
  • Manage the administration of reinsurance treaties
  • Improve data quality, ensure timely delivery, and maintain accurate records for audit requirements
  • Support process development for internal and external materials with internal teams and reinsurers
  • Support reinsurance data cleansing, true-up materials, and transition to live reporting for relevant schemes
  • Provide specialist training and support to enhance reinsurance knowledge across DB
  • Produce and deliver regular reinsurance reporting
  • Collaborate with the Reinsurance Pricing team and manage relationships with reinsurer operations teams
  • Support month-end deliverables for internal stakeholders
  • Check scheme reinsurance data and provide guidance and feedback to colleagues
  • Produce internal audit and Financial Controls materials for quality control and issue identification
  • Handle ad-hoc data requirements and requests for Reinsurance Operations
  • Support contractual requirement gathering for new and existing contracts
  • Support wider projects and reinsurance operations deliverables

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven track record using Excel to manage and manipulate large datasets with Excel functions and VBA
  • Aptitude and interest in learning other coding languages
  • Technical understanding of defined benefit pensions
  • Experience working alongside or for a TPA administering DB pensions or BPA products
  • Ability to balance short-term process improvements and deliverables with longer-term project work and initiatives
  • Good understanding of DB de-risking administration requirements and differences from standard pensions administration
  • Experience training individuals and groups
  • Ability to manage workloads and prioritise multiple tasks according to business volumes and priorities
  • Customer service focus
  • Excellent communication skills across in-person, telephone, letter, and email channels
  • Clear focus on quality, service, and results
  • Flexible approach and ability to work in a fast-moving team environment
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Experience in the reinsurance and pensions industry
  • Interest or experience using coding languages for large-scale data analysis, such as VBA, Julia, Python, or SQL
  • Previous DB pensions de-risking company experience beneficial
