About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develops and implements comprehensive environmental and sustainability programs in accordance with legal requirements.
Conduct Environmental Assessments, site audits, inspections.
Maintain and continuously improve comprehensive emergency preparedness and response plans.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with local first responders and regulatory agencies.
Organize and conduct pertinent training programs for employees.
Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend improvements.
Ensure that the organization complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
Maintain accurate records of environmental procedures, training sessions, compliance audits, correspondence and prepare reports for management.
Work with planners and entities concerned with environmental impact to address environmental issues and develop sustainable solutions.
Foster a workplace culture that prioritizes safety.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science or a related field.
5 years previous industry experience in environmental and/or safety work required.
Willingness to travel, as needed, to support site risk assessments, audits and training.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, data analysis, and engineering principles related to environmental science.
