About the role
- Assist in documenting security incidents and assessing the impact and scope.
- Support the IT Team in conducting basic tests to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Help remediate any detected vulnerabilities.
- Stay informed about foundational cybersecurity trends, common attack methods, and security best practices.
- Contribute to developing and promoting organization-wide security awareness and best practices.
- Participate in basic penetration testing activities and security assessments.
- Assist colleagues with installing, configuring, and learning security tools.
Requirements
- Some professional experience or internship in information security, IT support, or a related field is preferred.
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including networking, firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and intrusion detection/prevention.
- Basic familiarity with penetration testing tools and methodologies.
- Ability to identify and communicate common security risks and mitigation strategies.
- Experience with or exposure to Microsoft security products, such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Sentinel, Entra ID Protection, Microsoft 365 Defender, or related security solutions.
- Eagerness to learn, grow, and develop into higher-level cybersecurity roles.
