About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administration and further development of the network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, firewalls)
- Operation and maintenance of physical and virtual servers (e.g., VMware vSphere, Proxmox VE) as well as central storage systems
- Administration and maintenance of the Microsoft and Linux server landscape
- Technical integration of sites and subsidiaries into the existing system landscape
- Management and monitoring of SSL/TLS certificates, internal PKI structures, automated renewals and security monitoring as part of centralized certificate management
- Coordination, implementation and documentation of IT security and backup concepts
- Support in implementing cloud and hybrid solutions (e.g., Microsoft Azure, SAP BTP)
- Collaboration with internal departments, subsidiaries, partners and external IT service providers
- Monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimization during ongoing operations
- Interface with building services regarding UPS, emergency power supply and early fire detection
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in (business) computer science, training as an IT specialist (m/f/d), or equivalent qualification
- Several years of experience administering complex IT infrastructures in industrial or production environments
- Solid knowledge in: network administration (LAN/WAN/VPN, routing, firewalls, VLANs)
- Virtualization (VMware, Proxmox)
- IT security and backup systems
- Microsoft Server and Linux distributions
- Knowledge of SQL, Azure, cloud integrations or S/4HANA integrations is an advantage
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Structured, independent working style with high technical precision
- Team-oriented and willing to undertake occasional international business trips
