About the role

  • Administration and further development of the network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, firewalls)
  • Operation and maintenance of physical and virtual servers (e.g., VMware vSphere, Proxmox VE) as well as central storage systems
  • Management and upkeep of the Microsoft and Linux server landscape
  • Technical integration of sites and subsidiaries into the existing system landscape
  • Management and monitoring of SSL/TLS certificates, internal PKI structures, automated renewals and security monitoring as part of a central certificate management
  • Coordination, implementation and documentation of IT security and backup concepts
  • Support for the implementation of cloud and hybrid solutions (e.g., Microsoft Azure, SAP BTP)
  • Collaboration with internal departments, subsidiaries, partners and external IT service providers
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimization in day-to-day operations
  • Interface to building services/facilities regarding UPS, emergency power supply and early fire detection

Requirements

  • Completed degree in (business) computer science, vocational training as an IT specialist (Fachinformatiker) or equivalent qualification
  • Several years of experience in administering complex IT infrastructures in industrial or production environments
  • Solid knowledge in network administration (LAN/WAN/VPN, routing, firewalls, VLAN)
  • Virtualization (VMware, Proxmox)
  • IT security and backup systems
  • Microsoft Server and Linux distributions
  • Knowledge of SQL, Azure, cloud or S/4HANA integrations is an advantage
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Structured, independent working style with high technical precision
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to undertake occasional international business travel
