About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Overseeing permitting and right-of-way coordination activities for outside plant (OSP) fiber and telecommunications infrastructure projects.
- Managing permitting workflows, supporting project execution, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing leadership and guidance to permitting staff and cross-functional teams involved in broadband deployment initiatives.
- Leading and overseeing permitting processes across various jurisdictions to ensure timely approvals and compliance.
- Coordinating with engineering, construction, project management, municipalities, utilities, and regulatory agencies to resolve permitting challenges and maintain project schedules.
- Reviewing and supporting the development of permit drawings, easement documentation, route analysis, and project tracking utilizing ArcGIS and related tools.
- Maintaining permit and easement tracking systems, reporting metrics, and documentation to support operational efficiency and project delivery.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in OSP permitting, right-of-way coordination, telecommunications infrastructure, or utility permitting projects.
- Previous personnel management or team leadership experience, including supervising, mentoring, or managing permitting staff or cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of OSP construction methods, including aerial and underground fiber optic deployments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, ArcGIS or similar platforms for mapping and spatial analysis.
- Strong organizational, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Degree in engineering, GIS, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Experience supporting fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) or large-scale broadband deployment projects.
