About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Proactively build pipeline among employers with 10,000 or more employees
- Own qualified opportunities with employers of 1,000 or more employees from Consultant Relations, marketing, partnerships, inbound interest, and other channels
- Drive the full sales cycle from initial outreach and discovery through solution development, finalist presentations, contract negotiation, and close
- Build relationships with benefits leaders, consultants, and brokers
- Uncover opportunities, engage key decision-makers, and accelerate deal cycles
- Position Journey as a trusted partner using knowledge of the employer benefits space and Journey’s value proposition
- Navigate RFPs, procurement, contracting, and security and legal review
- Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by securing new-logo business
- Maintain rigorous opportunity management and accurate forecasting, including next steps, risks, stakeholders, and close plans
- Partner with Consultant Relations, marketing, customer success, infosec, legal, and product
- Ensure a strong handoff once a client is secured
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of enterprise sales experience with a consistent record of achieving or exceeding new-business targets
- Demonstrated success personally generating pipeline and closing complex, high-value new-business opportunities with large employers, including Fortune 500 companies or equivalent organizations
- Deep knowledge of the employer benefits or healthcare ecosystem
- Established relationships among benefits leaders, consultants, and brokers, with the ability to build new ones
- Ability to lead consultative sales processes and navigate complex buying cycles, including RFPs, procurement, negotiation, contracting, and executive decision-making
- Strong opportunity-management, forecasting, and CRM discipline
- Ability to operate independently and resourcefully in a growing company
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to convey Journey’s value proposition to diverse stakeholders and collaborate with executives and cross-functional teams
