About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • To deliver high-quality, engaging programmes in English, mathematics and ICT from entry level through to Level 2.
  • The primary objective is to support learners in developing their literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills by providing comprehensive teaching, learning, guidance, and support.
  • The tutor will play a key role in helping learners achieve their educational goals and improve their English, mathematics and ICT proficiency.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality teaching and learning sessions, workshops, and tutorials in line with curriculum requirements and individual learner needs.
  • Assess learners’ English, mathematics and digital abilities, identifying areas for improvement and tailoring teaching methods accordingly.
  • Develop and deliver engaging and interactive sessions using a variety of teaching techniques and resources to enhance learner understanding and engagement.
  • Provide individualised support to learners, addressing specific learning needs through one-on-one meetings and additional learning resources.
  • Monitor and track learners' progress, providing regular feedback and implementing strategies to address areas of weakness.
  • Set and mark assignments, tests, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to learners to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting learner participation, motivation, and confidence in English, mathematics and ICT.
  • Communicate regularly with learners, employers, and relevant stakeholders to provide updates on progress and address concerns.
  • Stay up to date with developments in English, mathematics and digital education, curriculum changes, and teaching methodologies to continuously improve teaching standards.
