About the role
- Manages end-to-end project delivery for critical facilities and data center infrastructure projects of moderate complexity
- Takes ownership of project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring adherence to uptime requirements and industry standards
- Coordinates cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver mission-critical infrastructure projects on time and within budget
- Supports senior project managers on larger initiatives while independently managing smaller to mid-scale critical facilities projects
- Lead project management for critical facilities projects including power upgrades, cooling system installations, server room buildouts, and infrastructure modernization
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for data center and mission-critical facility projects
- Manage project teams including MEP contractors, data center specialists, and vendor coordination
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide detailed progress reports to stakeholders and senior management
- Ensure compliance with data center standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute Tier requirements) and local building codes
- Monitor and mitigate project risks, particularly those affecting facility uptime and operational continuity
- Coordinate with facility operations teams to minimize disruption to critical systems during construction activities
- Manage change orders and scope modifications while maintaining project profitability
- Interface with clients to understand technical requirements and provide project updates
- Oversee quality control processes and final commissioning of critical systems
- Maintain project documentation including as-built drawings, warranties, and O&M manuals
Requirements
- Minimum of 5-8 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in critical facilities, data centers, or mission-critical infrastructure
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related technical field
- Demonstrated experience managing projects valued between $500K - $5M
- Strong understanding of critical infrastructure systems including electrical distribution, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, and monitoring systems
- Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
- Experience with design review processes and technical drawing interpretation
- Knowledge of data center design standards and best practices
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
