About the role

  • Responsible for operational management and daily leadership of the engineering team to safely, efficiently, and effectively operate machinery and systems
  • Ensure highest level of professionalism while meeting client needs and commitment to achieving 100% uptime
  • Oversee maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems (fire/life safety, mechanical HVAC/plumbing/controls, electrical lighting/UPS/PDU/generators/primary switch gear, cabling, lighting and temperature controls, digital systems, Audio/Visual)
  • Utilize staff and contract outside vendors as necessary; supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training and development
  • Identify maintenance objectives and implement documented preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance procedures
  • Identify and remediate safety hazards; implement and manage safety training program
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory laws and guidelines related to building infrastructure
  • Alert management of building discrepancies and assist in development of Capital plan for infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements and building modifications
  • Ensure major projects are planned, executed and closed out per industry practices; maintain infrastructure and compliance documentation, building drawings and single-lines
  • Oversee contractor activities and maintain records of building rounds, readings, engineering logs and data sheets
  • Provide advance training and notification to contractors, maintain incident contact response list, and comply with emergency escalation procedures
  • Ensure CWA process, Critical Awareness Process, Technical Bulletins, engineering guidelines, KPIs and Individual Performance Measurement Plans are implemented
  • Perform additional duties as requested

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Five (5)+ years of JLL engineering experience or equivalent industry experience
  • Two (2)+ years supervisory experience or experience as a Lead Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer
  • Hands-on experience in a data center/critical facility, including UPS Systems, emergency generators, and switch-gear
  • Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent
  • Certification as a Universal Technician for CFC’s (or within 90 days of employment)
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills
  • Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service
  • Preferred: Previous military experience (Army Prime Power, Navy ET/Nuke, Air Force HVAC/Power Pro Electrician)
