About the role
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by coordinating with internal stakeholders and ensuring all deadlines are met
- Analyze financial data and variances to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing clear explanations and actionable recommendations
- Maintain and improve accounting systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Collaborate with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other finance teams to resolve discrepancies and streamline workflows
- Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and ensuring documentation is readily available
- Partner with business units across the organization to provide accounting guidance and support for various transactions and projects
- Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives that strengthen the overall finance function
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or professional services environment
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles, with demonstrated ability to apply them in practice
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar platforms)
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA certification or active progress toward CPA completion (preferred)
- Experience in the real estate, property management, or professional services industry (preferred)
- Knowledge of financial consolidations and intercompany accounting (preferred)
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and accounting automation tools (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or training junior team members (preferred)
