About the role
- Manage a group of Transition Leads, providing day-to-day guidance, project assignments, and performance oversight.
- Support team members in executing complex transition projects while ensuring alignment with broader team objectives and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Sourcing Transitions Team Leader to optimize team performance and resource allocation.
- Execute hands-on transition management for assigned sourcing implementations, taking personal accountability for successful delivery from contract award through operational readiness.
- Manage project timelines, coordinate stakeholder activities, and ensure quality execution while balancing management responsibilities with direct delivery commitments.
- Serve as primary client contact for assigned transition projects, managing expectations and mitigating anxiety during critical implementation phases.
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills to build client confidence and maintain positive relationships throughout complex transition periods.
- Provide transparent communication about progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Coordinate complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple concurrent projects.
- Facilitate communication between sourcing teams, operations, suppliers, and client organizations to ensure aligned execution.
- Manage competing priorities and resolve conflicts that may arise during transition implementations.
- Lead operational change initiatives during transition implementations for both managed projects and personally delivered assignments.
- Guide clients and stakeholders through complex transformations, ensuring successful adoption of new sourcing arrangements while minimizing operational disruption.
- Track and report on transition project progress, including timeline adherence, budget management, and quality metrics.
- Provide regular updates to the Sourcing Transitions Team Leader on both team performance and individual project status.
- Analyze project outcomes to identify improvement opportunities.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with assigned transition projects.
- Develop contingency plans and implement rapid response capabilities to address challenges during implementation.
- Apply analytical skills to resolve complex issues while maintaining project momentum and team productivity.
- Provide coaching and professional development support to Transition Leads, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance team capabilities.
- Foster a collaborative environment that promotes learning and performance optimization while balancing individual development with project delivery requirements.
- Lead client meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder communications with professionalism and confidence.
- Present transition plans, status updates, and recommendations to clients and internal leadership.
- Support the Sourcing Transitions Team Leader in broader communication initiatives and team representation.
Requirements
- Hands-on role requiring willingness and ability to be both the strategist and tactician or lead a team of people to perform both types of tasks.
- High level of organization and project management skills.
- Expertise in sourcing with demonstrated ability to manage change and client concerns.
- Success implementing multiple sourcing strategies.
- Advanced negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to deliver results in challenging environments.
- Strong leadership skills: the ability to quickly build a working rapport and level of influence with executive level management.
