About the role
- Assist facilities engineers with preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems
- Support routine inspections, equipment monitoring, and basic troubleshooting activities under supervision
- Help maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment records
- Participate in capital improvement projects, tenant improvement coordination, and facility upgrades
- Assist with project documentation, vendor coordination, and progress tracking
- Support cost analysis and budget preparation activities
- Help monitor building automation systems and energy management platforms
- Assist with work order processing, vendor management, and contractor oversight
- Support emergency response procedures and after-hours coordination when needed
- Maintain facility drawings, equipment manuals, and operational procedures
- Assist with energy consumption analysis, sustainability reporting, and compliance documentation
- Help prepare presentations and reports for property management teams
- Contribute to the creation of engineering service delivery standards
- Help in the planning, implementation and review of site-specific processes and protocols
- Work with a team to ensure that all performance targets set out in the contract are being met
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Maintenance Engineering, Building Surveying, Facilities Management, or related field
- Minimum junior standing preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis
- Basic understanding of building systems and construction principles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in team environments
