About the role
- Perform operations, repairs, and maintenance of all HVAC systems and equipment
- Conduct predictive, planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot and respond to a wide range of mechanical problems
- Conduct visual and operational inspections
- Document problems encountered and communicate via electronic work order systems
- Operate systems in compliance with government regulations
- Responsible for the successful operation of building systems including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Life Safety
- Manage and respond to online service requests
- Respond effectively to emergencies and support after-hours building related activity
- Manage installations of new and/or replacement equipment
- Maintain a detailed inventory of parts and equipment
- Assist the Chief Engineer and/or Site Manager with operational recommendations
Requirements
- High school diploma required; completion of a trade school or apprentice program preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in HVAC systems, building engineering, technical aspects of machinery, plumbing, electrical, equipment repair, and maintenance
- Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, equipment specifications, and O&M manuals
- Experience with building/system controls
- EPA Universal 608 certification required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly in oral and written form
