About the role
- Working cross-functionally across several teams to achieve success with energy initiatives aligned with the scope of work
- Engaging in robust, proactive communication, driving innovation and integration of feedback to remove roadblocks, and leverage opportunities
- Developing, implementing, and driving success of a building energy optimization program in direct collaboration with the sustainability and facilities management teams
- Engaging in strategic decision-making with key Client stakeholders, including leveraging data tracking and monitoring to provide actionable recommendations
- Leveraging client tools and applicable in-house JLL tools and processes for problem-solving, and identifying and securing alternative tools as needs arise
- Understanding the implementation of energy reduction initiatives across the life cycle of commercial real estate
- Develop and execute energy management strategy
- Identify opportunities for energy reduction across nine sites including low-cost/no-cost and capital improvement projects
- Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption through operational and maintenance improvements with monthly consumption review and correction if needed
- Act as the subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on energy and sustainability topics and requests
- Produce monthly and quarterly energy reports outlining progress toward objectives, including estimated energy reduction and return on investment
- Work cross-functionally across several JLL & client teams including on-site personnel to achieve success with energy initiatives aligned with the scope of work
- Collaborate with other JLL energy managers to share best practices
- Engage with facility management team to become the key point of contact for the provision of wide-ranging advice in relation to all aspects of energy reduction
- Develop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice operational energy performance and use of utility management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes.
Requirements
- University Degree (Science, engineering, math, or related fields) and 5+ years relevant experience
- Technical understanding of the most common HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems and their impact on sustainability goals
- Applied experience in building energy auditing, commissioning, and/or retrofit or design
- Advanced understanding of energy conservation measures including low-cost, capital improvement, and operational and maintenance measures and initiatives in commercial real estate
- Strong communication and cross-collaboration skills, and ability to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders
- Excellent ability to build relationships with clients and their internal teams
- Attention to detail and accuracy in written and numeric work
- Strong ability to analyze corporate portfolio by benchmarking and reviewing utility data to drive sustainability measures
