About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, direct and manage the performance of the Business Unit(s) according to overall strategy
- Maintain and develop business growth
- Ensure Business Unit goals are met by efficiently managing personnel and resources
- Work closely with the Group Leader/Portfolio Manager and leadership teams
- Drive long-term value creation while maintaining entrepreneurial culture, customer intimacy and disciplined operating principles
- Manage financial and resource planning for Imaginet and potential future Business Units
- Ensure the business is financially sound, well managed, and achieves key targets
- Direct and manage employees and resources within budget
- Oversee employee welfare and development
- Develop, motivate and empower the management team
- Develop product strategy and ensure delivery against a published roadmap
- Ensure high standards of work and customer service
- Build relationships with industry partners and alliances across the UK
- Implement risk management policies for strategic, operational and legislative compliance risks
- Ensure company directives and reporting are executed and policies and procedures comply with legislation and regulations
- Report to a Group Leader/Portfolio Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent leadership skills and ability to engage, motivate and lead an organisation
- Ability to plan and coordinate business functions across teams within a software business
- Sound planning skills and ability to influence strategic direction and vision
- Excellent decision-making and analytical problem-solving skills
- Collaborative leadership style and willingness to work on customer accounts and problem solving
- Proven track record growing a business through successful sales initiatives
- Extensive hands-on experience building and maintaining client relationships from small businesses to major enterprise chains
- Proven track record selling to corporate businesses, Local Authorities and Universities
- Ability to resolve complex, high-level customer complaints diplomatically and professionally
- Proven customer focus and extensive client service or sales experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with people from interns to CEOs
- Experience in financial management and establishing controls to minimise financial risk
- Proven record meeting or exceeding revenue and profit targets against forecasts
- Experience designing and managing bonus, commission and reward schemes
- Experience developing, implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures
- Ability to support the executive team in shareholder decision-making
- Knowledge of statutory, legal and contractual obligations
- Experience with contract negotiations and frameworks for suppliers and customers
- A degree or equivalent in a relevant management, business and/or information technology discipline, or comparable work experience
- Senior Management experience and an established profile within the UK Transportation software industry highly desirable
- Proven experience as a Business Leader or Senior Manager within a software business or across multiple businesses
- Understanding of measurements and metrics used to drive a successful CSI/Vesta Group company
- Experience balancing commercial success with customer satisfaction and employee engagement
- Experience managing multiple conflicting priorities to meet strategic deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Energetic, motivated and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
