About the role
- Plan, coordinate, and direct the food quality program for quality control and assurance
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance and integration of Salm quality philosophy
- Administer Quality Assurance programs to ensure product meets specifications
- Serve as HACCP Coordinator and liaison for Food Safety and QA groups
- Develop and maintain Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)
- Manage Internal Audit and Corrective Action processes
- Communicate Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Evaluate new vendors for customer requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Microbiology, Food Science or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years quality management experience in USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment
- Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Thorough understanding of USDA regulations and standards required
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- High level of computer proficiency in a Windows environment, preferably with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
- Must have ability to learn new software as needed
- Must possess ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
