About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support clients in the New Mexico territory, including Tucson, Arizona; El Paso, Texas; and Tulsa, Oklahoma
  • Expand Mentor product sales and convert competitive products in line with company policy and sales direction
  • Achieve product sales to new and established accounts to meet sales objectives and increase market penetration
  • Demonstrate proper surgical use of products to physicians
  • Handle customer product questions and objections using sales training methodology
  • Maintain and expand current accounts, build new accounts, develop customer relationships, and meet sales quotas
  • Execute the selling cycle professionally, ethically, and persuasively
  • Communicate business issues or opportunities to management
  • Develop customers and manage accounts through consultative selling, pre-call planning, needs assessment, objection handling, presentations, closing, and follow-up
  • Build customer relationships, develop key opinion leader relationships, and allocate marketing programs
  • Position the Mentor portfolio for augmentation and reconstruction settings
  • Manage multiple product call points across private practices, surgery centers, and hospitals
  • Assess territory metrics and implement territory business plans
  • Implement and promote marketing programs in private practice settings
  • Complete sales training, administrative requirements, and consignment audits by deadlines
  • Maintain territory within regional travel and budget parameters
  • Apply market knowledge and technical fluency across Mentor and competitive product portfolios
  • Support studies and materials and execute marketing plans across the product portfolio
  • Articulate strategy to customers, management, and team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4–6 years of total work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of outside sales experience
  • 4+ years of sales experience with documented history of 2+ years sales success in a medical device sales environment is preferred
  • Surgical Sales Experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of clinical, surgical techniques and procedures, and medical terminology preferred
  • Experience selling to surgeons in an operating room environment and/or experience calling on plastic surgeons is preferred
  • Aesthetics sales experience and experience calling on plastic surgeons is preferred
  • Typically oversees $1.5M to $3.5M in annual sales year over year, demonstrating sustained performance 3 out of 4 years
  • Ability to identify decision makers and influence decisions
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload, multitask, and manage diverse issues and responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage budgets, expenses, and execute plans
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a high-performance team and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical features and benefits of a product
