Independently and effectively conduct internal investigations on potential legal and compliance issues, including interviews, document review, open-source research, and preparation of clear, concise, and robust work products
Provide practical and sound legal advice to internal stakeholders on government inquiries, investigations, and litigation matters principally in China
Advise internal stakeholders, including healthcare compliance and commercial teams, on Chinese anti-unfair competition, corruption, improper promotion, and related life sciences laws
Advise on Chinese laws affecting government-related litigation and corporate internal investigations
Work with internal stakeholders to support compliance training efforts
Facilitate prompt identification, escalation, and investigation of relevant compliance and legal issues to the corporate Triage Committee based in New Brunswick

Requirements

What you’ll need

US Juris Doctor (JD) or Common Law equivalent (LLB)
Chinese Law Degree from a reputable university
At least 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience
Strong Chinese and English oral and written communication skills
Significant experience conducting internal investigations in China for life sciences companies at a reputable US law firm or equivalent
Collaborative team player
Strong demonstrable analytical skills
