About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and deploy fit-for-purpose models for Cell and Gene Therapy development activities
- Develop mechanistic, statistical, hybrid, machine learning, and multivariate models
- Create user-accessible modeling solutions, dashboards, workflows, and decision-support tools
- Partner with scientists, engineers, data scientists, automation experts, IT architects, and Digital Twin leads
- Contribute modeling components to end-to-end Cell and Gene Therapy Digital Twins
- Support model verification, validation, documentation, lifecycle management, and governance
- Define and lead departmental strategy for model implementation and change management
- Advance modeling culture by identifying high-impact use cases and coaching scientific teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS degree in a core science or engineering field with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or MS/equivalent with at least 2 years, or PhD/equivalent with 0–1 year
- Experience developing and applying time series, mechanistic, statistical, hybrid, machine learning, or multivariate models to complex scientific or engineering data
- Ability to translate scientific questions into modeling strategies and interpret outputs for non-modeling audiences
- Advanced skills with programming languages or modeling environments such as Python, R, MATLAB, Julia, C++, Java, or .NET
- Proficiency with statistics, algorithm design, data analysis, model quality attributes, and model verification/validation
- Ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional scientific, engineering, data, automation, and IT teams
- Experience with pharmaceutical, biologics, Cell and Gene Therapy, or GxP-adjacent development environments preferred
- Experience with reusable modeling frameworks, simulation workflows, digital twin initiatives, decision-support applications, or user-facing modeling tools preferred
- Experience with process analytical technologies, chemometrics, Raman spectroscopy, bioreactor data, chromatography data, or other process development data sources preferred
- Experience with cloud, software development, or collaboration tools such as Azure, AWS, Git, JIRA, Confluence, agile/scrum, application development, or full-stack development preferred
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
