About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architect, evolve, and connect global social media channel charters and operational models across regions and therapeutic areas
  • Ground digital initiatives in audience insights, user experience, and intuitive content pathways
  • Monitor how emerging technologies, especially AI, will reshape digital strategy, operations, content workflows, and audience engagement
  • Build partnerships across therapeutic areas, global markets, and enterprise functions as a trusted advisor
  • Partner with regional teams to amplify local priorities and provide governance, templates, and training
  • Own and maintain the global social media governance framework, policies, access controls, and risk protocols
  • Refine compliant review pathways and escalation protocols with Legal, Regulatory, Privacy, and Security teams
  • Supervise global publishing standards, community moderation, credential security, and vendor management
  • Develop indicator frameworks for awareness, engagement, traffic, and reputation metrics
  • Turn complex data into actionable leadership insights
  • Set community engagement and sensitive moderation standards for adverse events, misinformation, and product complaints
  • Coordinate with issues and crisis teams during major moments
  • Direct a high-performing core team and provide direct and indirect people leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Hands-on experience in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or a similarly regulated environment
  • Experience partnering with medical, legal, regulatory, and compliance functions
  • Proven track record building or managing social media governance, policies, risk controls, and channel access frameworks
  • Experience architecting global channel structures, audience user flows, and multi-market distribution ecosystems
  • Strong capability using analytics tools such as Sprinklr, Khoros, or Brandwatch
  • Ability to derive insights, improve user experience, and communicate return on investment to leaders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in social media strategy, digital communications, and/or integrated marketing
  • Leadership experience in a large, complex organization
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience
  • Ability to build and develop teams across strategy, operations, creative, and analytics
  • Occasional flexibility for after-hours coverage during high-priority news cycles or issues
  • Required skills: Brand Reputation Management, Corporate Communications Strategy, Media Relations
