About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own Ethicon’s comprehensive surgical devices and solutions portfolio, with a focus on hemostasis and wound closure platforms
- Sell surgical solutions to surgeons and hospital decision makers, primarily in operating room settings
- Manage an assigned sales territory covering physicians and hospital institutions
- Attain sales forecasts in assigned accounts and territory
- Set priorities and make business decisions based on account sales opportunities
- Demonstrate proper product use to clinicians in operating room environments
- Manage customer questions and objections consistently with product indications and sales training
- Execute the selling cycle ethically, professionally, concisely, persuasively, and within healthcare compliance guidelines
- Conduct sales presentations using methods learned in sales training
- Analyze data, monitor market information, and conduct business planning
- Build customer relationships with physicians, hospital personnel, authorized distributors, and key opinion leaders
- Conduct customer education seminars as appropriate
- Comply with safe-behavior standards and demonstrate product, procedure, and clinical knowledge
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of relevant business experience in medical sales (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology) or healthcare
- Demonstrated exceptional achievement of sales objectives
- Valid driver's license issued in the United States
- Ability to target accounts and achieve results through a daily action plan
- Hospital-based pharmaceutical or medical device experience, including operating room sales, preferred
- Experience selling products to highly educated/high-profile customer bases preferred
- Experience developing new, innovative markets preferred
- Strong time management and planning skills preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills preferred
- Ability to collaborate with peers, marketing, Strategic Account Managers, distributor representatives, and key opinion leaders
- Product, procedure, and clinical knowledge
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance guidelines
