About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct the region’s sales activities to meet annual growth and revenue objectives
- Set sales targets and forecasts
- Identify, hire, retain, and develop talent through proactive performance management
- Develop strategies for launching new accounts and increasing penetration in existing accounts
- Establish effective communications with executives and managers across the company
- Lead difficult sales negotiations, especially with larger prospects
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Regulatory, and Clinical Affairs
- Partner with Marketing and Professional Education to develop value-added strategies, tools, programs, and services
- Manage sales and clinical teams for the assigned territory
- Manage and partner with the Region Clinical Manager overseeing the clinical consultant team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 10 years of work experience
- 5+ years of high-performance experience in the MedTech space, preferably cardiovascular
- 7+ years of management experience of a field commercial team, or 3+ years of successful leadership in the Abiomed Associate Region Director role
- Bachelor’s degree required
- MBA preferred
- Preferred background with diverse functional roles, such as sales training and field enablement
- Proven success managing a growing sales organization
- Ability to gain cooperation and lead team members
- Ability to negotiate with and influence senior-level leaders and KOLs
- Ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria
- Ability to travel up to 60%
- Ability to conduct duties in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations governing the medical device industry
