About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Overseeing and managing the surgery EHS&S activities across internal and external networks
- Ensuring compliance with EHS&S regulations/standards and the safety of all employees, visitors, and contractors
- Leading a global team of EHS&S professionals
- Building efficiencies through alignment of processes, procedures, and programs to support a dynamic surgery business
- Accountable for the effective alignment, deployment, and execution of EHS&S strategies, policies, and standards
- Responsible for overall performance within the franchise including compliance, risk reduction, and management initiatives
- Creating heightened organizational consciousness of EHS&S issues to deeply embed a strong EHS&S culture across the organization
- Developing and implementing surgery EHS&S business strategies and aligning the business with enterprise EHS&S goals and objectives
- Identifying and building mitigation plans for key EHS&S risks at each surgery location
- Cultivating deep expertise and fostering continuous improvement within the surgery organization
- Promoting the digital ecosystem to support execution of the EHS&S strategy, management system, and assurance processes
- Providing coaching & mentoring, developing EHS&S competencies, and building a strong talent pipeline
- Assuring monitoring of new legislation and emerging issues that could impact the surgery business
- Supporting the development and execution of the surgery external supply risk mitigation strategy
Requirements
What you’ll need- University/Bachelor’s Degree
- 10-15 years of related experience
- 8-10 years of people management experience
- Strong communicator who is credible and self-assured
- Strong technical skills with the ability to explain complex requirements in an easily understood manner
- Ability to negotiate with and influence key business leaders
- Previously demonstrated supervisory/leadership experience
- Demonstrated compliance orientation with a focus on end-to-end global/regional process management
- Ability to work in a matrix, team-oriented environment
- Highly developed interpersonal and cross-cultural skills
- Strong written and oral English communication skills
- Strong experience working in Microsoft Office.
