About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead U.S. SALT and indirect tax compliance, including sales and use tax, property tax, gross receipts, and other transaction‑based taxes.
- Manage tax provision, audits, controversy matters, and correspondence with state and local taxing authorities.
- Develop and execute SALT and indirect tax planning strategies to manage risk, optimize cash flow, and support business initiatives.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to assess tax implications of new products, business models, and transactions.
- Oversee third‑party advisors and ensure high‑quality, timely deliverables aligned with company standards.
- Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting SALT and indirect taxes and assess business impact.
- Ensure strong internal controls, documentation, and compliance with company policies and external regulations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field (required).
- Typically requires 8-10 years of progressive experience in SALT and/or indirect tax, including experience in a large multinational organization or public accounting firm.
- Demonstrated expertise in U.S. state and local tax compliance and planning.
- Experience managing audits and interacting with taxing authorities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Preferred: Experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, or commercial operations.
- Prior people‑management experience.
- Experience with tax technology solutions and process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of indirect tax implications related to medical devices or regulated industries.
- Language: English (required).
