About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Developing and leading strategic programs and project teams to enable execution, with a focus on robust project management practices and delivery of value for business partners.
  • Managing the administration of project submissions and approvals through established prioritization and governance processes.
  • Leading, participating in, or attending (as appropriate) project and portfolio review meetings and providing reporting to project sponsors.
  • Ensuring a clear and consistent approach to risk management in alignment with Finance and business partners.
  • Monitoring project progress in a timely and accurate manner and providing sponsors and stakeholders with sufficient visibility and information to support decision-making.
  • Ensuring project risks, issues, and dependencies are proactively managed to minimize disruption to successful delivery, with escalation to project sponsors when appropriate.
  • Partnering closely with Investment Owners and Project Leads to ensure accurate and robust budget tracking and monitoring against project plans.
  • Identifying innovative solutions to complex challenges through effective leadership, communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Supporting Global Development Project Managers (PMs) in the adoption and sustainment of core project management processes and tools.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Physical Sciences, or a related field is required.
  • An advanced degree (e.g., Master's) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant business and project management experience within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry is required.
  • Experience utilizing standard project management tools and methodologies and leading cross-functional teams is required.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical clinical development and clinical operations processes, including experience working across diverse business processes and system environments, is preferred.
  • Experience leading and delivering complex programs that improved operational performance within cross-functional environments is preferred.
  • FPX training and certification is preferred.
  • Project management certification is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Demonstrated influencing, negotiation, verbal communication, written communication, and presentation skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project and portfolio management systems is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs in a dynamic environment is required.
