About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Visit ophthalmic surgeons in hospitals and practices
  • Provide information and demonstrate J&J Vision Surgical cataract medical products and systems and instruct surgeons on their handling
  • Establish and maintain close contact with ophthalmic surgeons within the defined territory
  • Engage with key opinion leaders
  • Execute marketing strategies and programs in line with the company’s strategic direction
  • Advise OR staff as needed regarding the use of J&J Vision Surgical medical products
  • Prepare an annual plan for sales/revenue and costs
  • Be responsible for administrative processes within the defined territory
  • Organize and conduct training events for surgeons, referrers and OR staff, and participate in congresses, workshops and seminars

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed training or a degree with a medical, ophthalmic-optician or commercial focus
  • Preferably several years of professional experience and success in selling to physicians, ideally in ophthalmology or with consultative (medical) products
  • Ideally knowledge of reimbursement systems in ophthalmology/medicine
  • Solid business/financial knowledge and skill in presenting and negotiating complex product portfolios
  • Experience maintaining and using Customer Relationship Management systems daily, proactively documenting potential new business according to segmentation lists, and the ability to plan and document complex sales strategies thoroughly
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel/commitment
  • Very good MS Office skills
  • Good English skills
