About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage outbound transportation operations for customer shipments, including domestic and international distribution from J&J distribution centers
- Coordinate shipment planning and execution to ensure timely and accurate delivery to end customers, including hospitals, wholesalers, and specialty care providers
- Track and trace outbound shipments, providing proactive communication and resolving delivery exceptions to maintain service levels
- Support development, implementation, and analytics as well as provide analysis and recommendations to support strategic supply chain decisions
- Partner with distribution centers, customer service, and logistics teams to align shipping priorities with customer requirements and order fulfillment timelines
- Monitor carrier performance and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), escalating issues and driving corrective actions as needed
- Lead cost improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize routing, mode selection, consolidation, and carrier utilization
- Drive service improvement initiatives to enhance delivery reliability, visibility, and customer satisfaction
- Analyze and report transportation metrics related to service, cost, and efficiency to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and customer-specific requirements for outbound shipments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of a Bachelor’s or equivalent university degree required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain functions
- General knowledge of U.S. transportation industry and distribution networks
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in outbound distribution and customer delivery networks (Preferred)
- Experience in project management (Preferred)
- Familiarity with transportation compliance and customer-specific delivery requirements (Preferred)
- Technological aptitude and ability to learn new systems quickly (Preferred)
