About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- proactively partner with Compound Development Teams (CDT) and Project Management Teams (PMT) to align financial targets, analyze the value of project investments, and address business issues
- manage all aspects of financial updates including Business Plan and Long Range Financial Plan and ensure the accuracy and compliance of monthly forecasting and closing cycles
- pipeline valuation models for their compounds, which includes partnering with CDT/PMT, Commercial, Global Strategic Marketing, Operations and Tax Support of Cross-Pharmaceutical Portfolio
- provide ad-hoc valuation support to key stakeholders across the Pharmaceutical R&D, Operations and Strategic Marketing organization
- partner with Business Development in support of External Innovation and L&A/M&A projects
- challenge business assumptions, develop alternative scenarios and educate business partners on financial issues and concepts
- provide recommendations for improving the value of the financial information supplied to upper management, provide guidance to business partners, and execute the process for all development forecast and worldwide valuation updates for his/her compounds
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a major in Accounting or Finance.
- MBA, CPA, CMA, or other financial certifications is preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years finance or related business experience is required.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or consumer products industries as well as public accounting is preferred.
- Must possess excellent analytical (MS Excel), conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to think creatively and work in a team environment is required.
- The ability to effectively take on leadership roles in various functions is required.
- The ability to navigate through ambiguity is required.
- Must work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and handle several tasks simultaneously is required.
