About the role

  • The Associate Director of Content Operations is responsible for building from the ground up and overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operational functions of Johnson & Johnson’s Content Hub.
  • The candidate in this role will report to the Director of Content Hub and support the content creation and production engine of the future.
  • This role will ensure cross-portfolio creative development achieves unparalleled quality and efficiencies through standards, governance, and engagement models across marketing, agencies of record, and Johnson & Johnson’s promotional review committees.
  • This individual will play a critical role in implementing and optimizing operational capabilities that enhance efficiency, productivity, and ultimately driving the organization's growth and profitability.
  • The Associate Director, Content Hub/Studio Operations is accountable for operational excellence of the Content Hub/Studio that delivers compliant, on-time commercial assets.
  • The role provides day-to-day governance and performance management of the agency-run hub, while serving as product owner / operational owner for the Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform and leading the DAM librarian function responsible for metadata, taxonomy, rights, curation, and audit readiness.
  • Govern extended partner/vendor teams staffing the Content Hub/Studio; ensure alignment to brand standards, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Own the agency operating model: resource plans, role clarity, onboarding, knowledge transfer, training adherence, and capacity management.
  • Operationalize and scale the production engine, driving the high-volume delivery of assets across all key channels.
  • Oversee quarterly scope planning, working closely vendor supporting Content Hub.
  • Execute a strategic roadmap to right-size the vendor ecosystem.
  • Lead the repatriation of critical services from external vendors to internal teams, ensuring seamless business continuity during transitions.
  • Provide process and planning updates for upcoming capabilities launches and updates to ensure production capabilities are understood and considered.
  • Oversee project coordination and delivery.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of content execution processes and best practices.
  • Refine workflows to streamline production, removing bottlenecks and creating repeatable, efficient processes for creative teams.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational systems and processes to provide clear visibility into goals, progress, and potential obstacles.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of DAM platforms, from initial implementation and configuration through ongoing support and enhancement.
  • Act as platform product owner, managing roadmaps, backlogs, releases, and vendor relationships (Adobe, Veeva, system integrators).
  • Lead day-to-day DAM operations, including user access, taxonomy, metadata models, workflows, and asset governance.
  • Develop and deliver training and enablement for users and agency partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement, adoption metrics, and DAM usage analytics to maximize platform value.
  • Lead the DAM librarian function responsible for taxonomy, indexing, cataloging, archiving, metadata tagging and day-to-day DAM tool operations.
  • Ensure rights management is captured and enforced via usage-rights metadata; validate source files and ensure assets are publish-ready.
  • Oversee migrations/bulk uploads and ongoing asset health: audits, de-duplication, expired asset archival, metadata completeness, and quality controls.
  • Own data capture and analysis, monitoring key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and drive Content Hub operational efficiency.
  • Responsible for producing hindsight reports, outlining successes and opportunities for improvement to inform future strategies.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with agency leadership; manage corrective action plans for SLA misses, compliance issues, or quality drifts.
  • Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure operational efficiency, service delivery, and satisfaction, making data-driven adjustments as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: B.S. required; MS/MBA/PhD preferred.
  • Required: 8+ years of progressive experience in Content Operations, Marketing Operations, or Digital Production.
  • Must have experience in managing a creative production department, thorough knowledge of video, graphic, and interactive media production.
  • Solid understanding of all aspects of production elements; assessing client needs, creative concept development, production, media distribution.
  • Deep proficiency in Technology to support Content Operations required [e.g. Digital Asset Management such as Adobe DAM or Veeva Vault), Work Management such as Adobe Workfront, Jira), and Marketing Automation].
  • Preferred: Creative and production agency experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing large operational agency budgets ($20M+) and driving vendor consolidation strategies.
  • Experience improving processes, ways of working both internally and externally, work smarter and more efficiently.
  • Strong relationship management and agency leadership experience.
  • Experience to develop, communicate, advocate and execute a strategy required.
  • Proven experience in prioritizing and managing a complicated portfolio of projects required.
  • Proven success in working in a matrixed organization with strong collaboration and influence skills.
  • Demonstrated experience and strength in communications (e.g., written recommendations and live presentation) and influence, and the ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with peers and broad stakeholders.
  • Accountable individual, who takes initiative in setting and implementing goals, meeting deadlines, making decisions, recommending improvements, and holding self and team members accountable to deliver goals and objectives.
  • Experience operationalizing Generative AI solutions in a corporate or agency environment is highly desirable.
