About the role

  • Lead global commercial and marketing communications strategy in support of DePuy Synthes’ priority platforms, including joints, trauma, spine, sports medicine, and enabling technologies
  • Oversee integrated commercial communications across owned, earned, and shared channels, including digital, social, events, and marketing enablement tools
  • Partner closely with Marketing and global platform leaders to shape product positioning, messaging, and launch strategy
  • Own communications strategy and execution for new product introductions (NPI) including approved messaging and integrated activation plans
  • Lead communications planning for major congresses, medical meetings, and customer engagement moments, ensuring strong alignment across product, platform, and brand storytelling
  • Ensure communications are accurate, compliant, and aligned with regulatory, legal, and medical requirements
  • Collaborate with brand, corporate, media, and internal communications partners to ensure cohesion across the broader communications ecosystem
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing commercial communications team with strong product and customer engagement expertise
  • Establish clear performance metrics to assess effectiveness of launches, congress engagement, and commercial communications impact

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or related disciplines, with significant experience supporting commercial organizations
  • Deep experience in media and public relations, public affairs, digital communications, internal communications, and issues management
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior business leaders in P&L-driven environments
  • Deep expertise in product, platform, or pipeline communications, including NPI and lifecycle product support
  • Strong understanding of congress strategy, medical meetings, and healthcare customer engagement models
  • Experience operating in regulated industries such as medical technology or life sciences
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence at the executive level in matrixed organizations
  • Strategic, adaptable leader with strong executional rigor
