About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare detailed Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings for efficient placement of products and systems
  • Interpret and apply NFPA standards to design/layout sprinkler systems based on building type and features
  • Design/layout sprinkler systems using AutoCAD platform, coordinate sprinkler piping with other components, perform hydraulic calculations
  • Perform field checks of completed design to verify accuracy
  • Work with district contracting teams to understand customer contract and design process schedule
  • Coordinate deliveries of system materials to meet installation start dates
  • Mentor others in accurate execution of sprinkler design

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1-5 years of fire sprinkler design experience
  • Working experience of AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Sprinkler Design Software or equivalent sprinkler design software
  • Ability to solve basic math problems including geometry and algebra
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MSOffice, Sprinkler Design Software and a hydraulic calculation program
  • Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards for Automatic Sprinkler System Layout
  • NICET Level III in Water-Based Systems Layout
