About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare detailed Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings for efficient placement of products and systems
- Interpret and apply NFPA standards to design/layout sprinkler systems based on building type and features
- Design/layout sprinkler systems using AutoCAD platform, coordinate sprinkler piping with other components, perform hydraulic calculations
- Perform field checks of completed design to verify accuracy
- Work with district contracting teams to understand customer contract and design process schedule
- Coordinate deliveries of system materials to meet installation start dates
- Mentor others in accurate execution of sprinkler design
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 1-5 years of fire sprinkler design experience
- Working experience of AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Sprinkler Design Software or equivalent sprinkler design software
- Ability to solve basic math problems including geometry and algebra
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MSOffice, Sprinkler Design Software and a hydraulic calculation program
- Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards for Automatic Sprinkler System Layout
- NICET Level III in Water-Based Systems Layout
