Project Manager, HVAC

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of HVAC systems for large‑scale data center and mission critical projects
- Ensure safe, timely, cost‑effective, and quality project execution
- Lead site teams, manage project risks, and drive operational excellence from contract award through project completion and handover
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contract scope, specifications, schedule, and budget
- Develop and monitor project execution plans, master schedule, and manpower allocation
- Oversee critical path activities and implement recovery plans when needed
- Manage project cost control, budget forecasting, and cash flow
- Review and approve subcontractor progress claims and variation orders
- Identify, evaluate, and submit variation orders and extension of time (EOT) claims
- Ensure compliance with contractual and commercial requirements
- Act as the primary point of contact with clients, consultants, and main contractors
- Lead project meetings (technical, progress, coordination, and commercial)
- Ensure timely submission and approval of shop drawings, method statements, and technical documents
- Maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and future opportunities
- Lead and mentor project engineers, supervisors, and site teams
- Coordinate closely with MEP, CSA, vendors, and commissioning teams
- Ensure effective communication between site, engineering, procurement, and management teams
- Ensure compliance with project QA/QC requirements, authority regulations, and industry standards
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE policies and site safety requirements
- Oversee inspections, testing, commissioning, and final acceptance
- Identify and manage project risks related to design, schedule, cost, and resources
- Proactively resolve site issues and technical challenges
- Escalate critical risks with mitigation plans in a timely manner
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of experience in HVAC project delivery
- Proven experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial, or data center projects
- Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC, AHUs, ventilation, and preferred BMS integration
- Experience with mission-critical or data center projects is a strong advantage
- Understanding of HVAC design, installation sequences, and T&C processes
- Sound knowledge of contract management, project controls, and cost management
- Familiar with relevant codes, standards, and authority requirements
- Knowledgeable in MS Project / Primavera, MS Excel, and reporting tools
