About the role
- Promote and sell Johnson Controls Security services and technology within an assigned territory
- Use relationships and close new business for Johnson Controls Security and ensure customer retention
- Act as the Johnson Controls Security brand steward and clearly demonstrate company leadership in electronic security
- Secure profitable sales and upgrades to new, existing and discontinued commercial customers
- Initiate post-installation follow-ups to improve customer satisfaction and retention
- Maintain commanding knowledge of product line and services
- Adhere to Johnson Controls Security policies, procedures, products, programs and services
- Create new market share by selling to new local commercial customers
- Sell additional products and services to existing accounts and convert/amend customer systems
- Renew existing customer agreements and identify resale opportunities within assigned territory
- Identify prospects using creative lead-generating techniques and maintain productive working relationships with existing customers
- Independently establish call plans, customer follow-up strategies, and apply time and territory management techniques
- Process work orders and complete all paperwork in accordance with approved and standardized procedures
- Obtain referrals and work with Centers of Influence
- Conduct post-installation follow-up, ensuring commitments were met and affirming customer satisfaction once the customer has been in service
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent required
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to present to senior level executives within the customer and Johnson Controls Security organizations
- Ability to work a full-time schedule
- Available for local travel
- College degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a successful commercial sales representative in the security, IT or other technology sales industry (preferred), demonstrated by the consistent ability to meet and exceed quota
