Key responsibilities & impact

Develops and applies computer program models to simulate chiller components and systems
Develops component models and applies component models developed by others
Develops steady-state and multifaceted simulation models of thermal components and systems based on first principles and test data
Participates as a member of a project team to ensure projects are completed according to schedule
Collects, analyzes and interprets test data
Analyzes product performance and adjusts models as appropriate
Provides models that can be used for product design and optimization
Provides direction to personnel in the establishment of chiller design choices and system trade-offs
Provides mentorship on rating and analysis tool development
Develops innovative ideas to improve product performance and reduce cost

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
4 years of experience in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer
Programming experience with a compiled software language (C# preferred, C++, C, Fortran)
Experience with testing and evaluation of results in an engineering laboratory environment
Experience with object-oriented programming (C# preferred, python, Modelica, object-oriented C++)
Preferred Machine Learning experience
