About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develops and applies computer program models to simulate chiller components and systems
  • Develops component models and applies component models developed by others
  • Develops steady-state and multifaceted simulation models of thermal components and systems based on first principles and test data
  • Participates as a member of a project team to ensure projects are completed according to schedule
  • Collects, analyzes and interprets test data
  • Analyzes product performance and adjusts models as appropriate
  • Provides models that can be used for product design and optimization
  • Provides direction to personnel in the establishment of chiller design choices and system trade-offs
  • Provides mentorship on rating and analysis tool development
  • Develops innovative ideas to improve product performance and reduce cost

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4 years of experience in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer
  • Programming experience with a compiled software language (C# preferred, C++, C, Fortran)
  • Experience with testing and evaluation of results in an engineering laboratory environment
  • Experience with object-oriented programming (C# preferred, python, Modelica, object-oriented C++)
  • Preferred Machine Learning experience
