Industrial Refrigeration Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take ownership of the maintenance, fault‑finding, and repair of industrial‑size chillers and refrigeration systems across customer sites
- Servicing, maintaining, and repairing industrial refrigeration and chiller plant
- Carrying out PPM and reactive call‑outs
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control faults
- Producing clear service reports and recommending improvements
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, compliantly, and to a high standard
- Working independently on site while collaborating closely with the wider service team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Refrigeration apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience working on industrial refrigeration and large‑scale chillers
- Experience with HFC systems and ideally ammonia and/or CO₂
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, piping diagrams, and system layouts
- F‑Gas 2079 and ammonia handling certification
- Familiarity with major OEMs such as SABROE, Frick, York, Bitzer, Howden
- Strong diagnostic skills and a proactive, customer‑focused mindset
- Full UK driving licence
