About the role
- Overall leadership and management of the sales area, including leading, supporting and developing the assigned teams
- Expansion and consolidation of Johnson Controls’ market share in the North/East and West Germany regions
- Establishment and implementation of a regional sales strategy with an emphasis on promoting the life-cycle approach
- Leadership and development of field staff in the North/East and West Germany regions, including target-setting processes
- Management and further development of the sales function and ensuring achievement of targets in line with corporate requirements
- Development and expansion of new and existing business contacts
- Preparation and alignment of the sales budget, including ensuring compliance
- Monitoring and improvement of sales productivity
- Observation and analysis of the regional market and competitors
- Careful preparation of sales forecasts and plans
- Ensuring high customer satisfaction and maintenance of existing customer relationships
Requirements
- University degree in business administration with a focus on sales, or a completed technical degree, or a completed commercial/technical vocational training with several years of professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ leadership and sales experience (preferably in solution sales or plant engineering)
- Strong leadership skills and proven experience and success in coaching and performance management, preferably in a general contractor (GC) environment and project business
- Excellent regional market and customer knowledge
- Experience in strategic development of a sales area and in developing sales strategies
- Excellent presentation and persuasive communication skills
- High degree of reliability and sense of responsibility
- Confident and assertive manner, negotiation skills and decisiveness
- Entrepreneurial thinking and analytical skills
- Good knowledge of modern IT and CRM systems, particularly Salesforce
- Very good written and spoken German and English
- Willingness to travel is essential.
